Portrait of Andrew
Created For: "Digital Photography" course at Rasmussen College – Spring Quarter (2015)

Goal: The goal of this project was to photograph an individual in a way that was visually appealing and intriguing.

Materials Used:
Canon EOS Rebel T5 Digital Camera
Adobe Photoshop

I wanted the picture to appear natural, so I used sunlight rather than a lamp to highlight his face. To make sure his face, blue eyes, and red hair were the main focus, I kept the colors around him darker and more muted.

While taking photographs from different angles, I used the rule of thirds, lighting, color, and perspective. I also kept the camera eye level with Andrew so that attention was immediately drawn to his face.

I did minimal editing to this photograph to make it appear as natural as possible. The edits I did included saturating the blue in his eyes and the red in his hair, removing extra "noise," and making his shirt and the background darker.
