In only six months, I not only achieved brand recognition of the new NewsLink section of the corporate intranet among DHL Worldwide Express' 11,000 U.S. employees, but I also conceived of, pitched, researched and wrote 40 news articles and published them weekly on the intranet, without a single retraction. When profits in the American division of DHL were bleeding with no end in sight, a Change Management program quickly formed, and I pitched the branding for these communications following a summer baseball theme. The VP of Change Communications liked my idea, so "Quick Hit" changes as well as longer-term "Grand Slam" initiatives were launched, communicated company-wide by DHLink, the print newsletter (below), with weekly updates on the intranet, and by email and executive communications.
