'Creature Comforts' Pillow

Here is another project from Christine Nasser's 'Illustration for License' course. The purpose of this project was to illustrate a creature to be printed on a pillow, while keeping in mind the decor of the room it would reside in. In keeping with the aesthetic of mid-century modern decor, specifically of a home in an area such as Palm Springs, I chose to illustrate a roadrunner. This was an experiment in stylization as well, an attempt to channel some mid-century methods of illustration, and I am very pleased with my results.

My design was sent away to be printed on a pillow and returned within a few weeks, so as to partially emulate the experience of licensing artwork to a home decor company.
