30 20 10 is a project that travels from photo to 2D and 3D creation. Although the title alludes to three forms, this project takes shape in 8 steps, some of which are represented with multiple photographs.

30 Photographs are taken of patterns found in the world.
20 sketches are made inspired by the photographs above using black pen and single weight lines.
10 sketches are made inspired by sketches above, again using black pen and single weight lines.
At this point, a 12"x12" drawing is created, this time experimenting with line weight, density and mark-making.
At this point, a 3"x3" section of the 12"x12" drawing is selected, and used for inspiration in the creation of black and white paper collages.
A 3D model is created using cardboard, exploring space and void, inspired by the collages made in the previous step.
Two cross section drawings are created to depict the 3D model. An additional element is added, in this case a hand, to establish a size scale.
