National Park Badges

I think for me one of the hardest challenges was to figure out how I was going to advertise these three badges in this assignment. While I was researching on the look of the badges I saw an interesting photo of a girl holding a bunch of junior ranger’s badges for other national’s park. Then I got this idea of “Why not do a Pokemon ‘Got to catch them all’” with the badges. Every time someone visits a National Park they can a badge for visiting there, and they can collect these badges. With the theme I had in mine, I started to think of my colors and my style. I wanted my color to be light and fun. Although this is supposed to appeal to kids, I wanted to include the adults too. I like this saying, “You are never too old to play Pokemon.” I know I want my badges to be animal-friendly, nothing too realistic almost cartoon like. For each badge, I read the bio of the national park to get a sense of what animals they had and what their environment is like. While I was research I saw some of these badges already been done before, therefore I tried to have my own unique style. I know for my Yellowstone and Channel Islands I didn’t use the animals most people choose. I also want these badges to motivate and promote traveling and spending time with family in nature.
Also, I didn't want my badges to be the same shape because I thought that would be boring for someone who is collecting the badges. I want uniqueness in each badges since they represents different state national parks.
This is my final billboard look
