As part of their third term illustration exam, students were tasked with drawing and rendering a MechWarrior.

Within a group of 4 designers, we chose this image of Bumblebee from Transformers.

The above pictures depict the various stages of the rendering process. The image was first traced before a base layer of paint was applied. From there, gouache and chalk pastel were applied to create shadows and highlights, giving Bumblebee a 3-Dimensional appearance. Lastly, black and white markers were used to enhance details.

The final render of Bumblebee stands at 1.8 x 2.5m and is a self-standing cardboard render.
