Research study conducted along with a social group speaking the same language as my native tongue at a sports good shop addressing the question - 'What sounds are important to the social group?'
The research was from a participant observer point of view deriving metaphors and meanings in the lives of the members of the social group and placing yourself within them. It was a complex journey of becoming an insider from an outsider to gain insights and draw metaphors explaining the social group.

Duration on field: 30 days                                                             Location: Gandhinagar

The artefact chosen to describe the derived metaphor- 'Jagah Banana' was an origami paper ball. It is compressible as in the connotation of making space; it is a ball- an object of play widely sold at the shop; and the paper crumples and rumbles like the sounds prominently heard at the field.
