PREMIUM TEQUILA LAUNCH IN LA + SF
MISSION: DEVELOP 10 MARKETING CAMPAIGNS FOR XYZ (A LEADING LIFESTYLE MEDIA COMPANY)

CASAVERDES DE HERRADURA
Develop urban greenhouses and call them Casaverdes de Herradura in both LA and SF.

The casaverdes will grow agave from Amatitan and become site to host private holiday parties throughout the season. XYZ would feature the destinations on its website and can build a sponsored flash sale and/or event(s) at these exclusive sites.

MISSION: CALIFORNIA
The father of Herradura was literally a father (Padre José Feliciano) – shocking, but true. Inspired by its historic saga, Herradura challenges you to experience California’s historic mission trail like never before with XYZ as your guide. Embark on an XYZ-chartered weekend trip with a personal tequila sommelier and designated chauffeur and discover your local missions (and the best well for "local communion"). XYZ will introduce you to a unique Herradura cocktail at each destination.

For NorCal clergy, the pilgrimage embarks from San Francisco de Asis, onto San Jose and Santa Clara and ends in Santa Cruz on the first day. After a night of relaxation, the mission continues to San Antonio, San Miguel and culminates in San Luis Obispo – where you will meet your SoCal brethren.

The SoCal clergy’s journey begins in San Gabriel and travels through San Fernando, San Buenaventura and ends in Santa Barbara on the first day. On their second day, SoCal missionaries will travel to Santa Ines and La Purisma, before meeting up in San Luis Obispo for a night of celebrating a successful mission.

After a restful overnight in San Luis Obispo, the only mission left is to be returned home more enlightened (not lit).

CALIFORNIA LOTERIA

This sponsorship opportunity/contest was inspired from the Loteria cards used on Herradura’s web site to tell the story of Herradura. Herradura and XYZ will put a call out for local (not loco) graphic artists (and XYZ subscribers) in LA and SF in an effort to re-imagine the cards of the Loteria with California in mind (on both cities’ local editions).

There are 54 cards in the Loteria deck (used for Mexico’s version of bingo and for fortune telling); each artist will have one card to play with (so to speak)…they may choose to commemorate California or local history, satire or foretell the state’s future via their card (cards include iconic images such as the Diablo, Rooster and Mermaid).

Considering that the Loteria is used to tell a story, the project aims to introduce the Mexican tradition of Loteria to Californians (whose history is closely tied to Mexican culture), furthermore, to inspire locals to tell stories of their own using artistic outlets.

54 graphic artists will be able to select a card to re-imagine by a certain date – the full deck will be showcased on XYZ's site and each artist will receive a bottle of reposado for their work.

The fan favorite (voted by XYZ members) will win a barrel of Herradura, while the winner Herradura picks will be flown down to Casa Herradura in Amatitan, Mexico for a weekend tour of the hacienda.

Opportunities to produce Loteria decks, posters and exhibitions are at the discretion of Herradura.

HERRADURA HORSESHOE TOURNAMENT
Leveraging Herradura’s name (horseshoe) and new packaging, XYZ Events and Flash Sales will promote and produce exclusive horseshoe tournaments in beautiful Malibu and Marin respectively.

Attendees will have the chance to taste Herradura’s fine tequilas while competing to win a barrel of gold, silver and reposado tequila courtesy of Herradura.

Three fine chefs from each city will also compete to create delectable pairings with their featured tequilas. Attendees will select their favorite and the winning chef will also receive a barrel for their restaurant/bar (gold, silver, reposado).

DOCUMENTING TEQUILA COUNTRY
Feature the Hacienda of Casa Herradura in Amatitan as a destination experience for XYZ tequila lovers in SF and LA.

In addition, present a unique contest via XYZ's site for two winners (one from each city). XYZ subscribers, tequila aficionados and mixologists alike can enter for a chance to win round-trip lights to Guadalajara, including transit and accommodations in Amatitan.

On this journalistic adventure, the Californians will be accompanied by XYZ’s bilingual escort/documentarian and have the opportunity explore tequila country, courtesy of Herradura. The winners will have the opportunity to publish an editorial feature for XYZ, acting as journalists for a day...and return home with some of the best reposado as a souvenir.

SEARCH FOR THE MIXOLOGISTA
Herradura has partnered with XYZ in search of the west coast’s next mixologista.

Submit your recipe, a photo of the cocktail and tell us about you…the three finalists from each city will be featured at a cocktail party where they can create and sample their delectable concoction.

The winning mixologista from each city will be featured on their local XYZ edition and will receive a barrel of Herradura. XYZ subscribers that vote online to select the three finalists will be instantly entered to win an invitation to the tasting affair via XYZ Flash Sales and XYZ Email.

BARREL(Y) LEGAL
Feature an XYZ Flash Sale for LA and SF providing a Herradura barrel for a discounted price for XYZ members only.

If you’re having a fiesta at home or at the office, we’ll throw in a tequila mixologist (not in the barrel of course) for a couple extra pesos.

POP-UP SHOT TO TEQUILA COUNTRY
Embark on a journey through tequila country on La Leyenda (The Legend), one of the last remaining rail lines in Mexico. XYZ Flash Sales is chartering the iconic Tequila Express train from Guadalajara to take you right into the heart of tequila country. Explore modern and old factories, tequila tasting and a fiesta first-hand.

Spend two nights at Casa Herradura in a pop-up suite within the Hacienda (an XYZ Flash Sale exclusive).

Depart the holy land of agave with your very own bottles of reposado, personally signed for you by the masters at Herradura.

XYZ will do an editorial feature on tequila’s ten fiercest mixologists in SF and LA. XYZ members can purchase a discounted pass via an XYZ Flash Sale to sample each mixologist’s concoction made with Herradura.

PLAY THE LOTERIA (NOT THE LOTTO)
Utilize Herradura’s Loteria deck to develop an iPad/Smartphone game powered by XYZ.

Players earn points towards Herradura prizes (grand prize is a barrel of tequila). XYZ can incorporate elements of its brand into the deck (Flash Sales, Blogs, Travel, City Editions).
