Hosting Microbes is a project that explores the relationship between human bodies and bacteria. Using agar and bacteria collected from my body, I created a feast for my microbiome. This project was created to display the mutualistic, non-harmful relationship humans have with their microbiota. Though bacteria often has a stigmatized and misunderstood role within society, it plays a range of important roles in cultivating health. I wanted to demonstrate that the human body is covered in microorganisms. We each have our own personal bacteria cohort that we constantly host.
