In our interepretation of Vassily Grossman's novel, we explored themes such as nationalism, loss of identity and hope in our promotional animation.

Colour was used as both a narrative and transitional tool. The scenes start with intense red colours, representing the proud Russian heritage that many soldiers and Jews felt during Stalinist Russia, however these colours abruptly turn to monochrome as this identity, particularly for the Russian Jews is stripped away from them.
