First thing studied and researched is the sport itself: Bouldering. Most of the aspects of design has been determined from the tradition of the sport itself.

Secondly; the focus was a common starting question. "WHERE" Determining that helped me asking the question "WHERE ELSE?"

Understanding some basic principals in the sport was exigency for the project. Marking systems for the routes were still done by old techniques, colorful tapes.

What is also discovered was, the most important thing in bouldering is the "route setting" In principal that means decision of placing the holds according to the varied climber's efficacy. 

The mystery of success of good climbers was; TRAINING". So that habits of climbers have also been spotted.  

According to "research on hand" some personas have been created in order to create product concepts.

Another persona was "competition climbers".

After sketching phase; a mock up model has been built in order to embody the research.

By building the "mock up" , the research switch up to "testing phase". Besides some important measurements, very important comments about the project have been taken from expert climbers directly.
