From Google Maps: Looking at a satellite image of Abu Dhabi you can find all 5 color that are represented in the brand identity.
When you think of a marina the first color that comes to mind is, naturally, blue. I knew there needed to be a shade of blue to inform the ‘water’ aspect of a marina. So I chose a blue-green that had dark gray mixed into it. The color of the Gulf waters.
I was told by my client that they like warm colors like gold and cream. With this in mind I made the focus color/ primary color of the brand gold.
The reasons for that went beyond the request from my client. The gold color that I chose, was also reflective of sun and sand. Besides the gold also was relevant to the luxury nature of the Marasi Marinas.
The ‘off white’ helped me have a light color to balance the dark navy.
Process of Getting to the Logo:
The process of getting to the logo was foundation of the identity for for Marasi Marina Management.
I had four possible suggestions at the end that are displayed on right.
- The preference from client was the 'M' repeated three times which creates three boat shapes side by side to reflect a Marina and the three Ms for the business name.
