Adobe Draw - Caricature/Cameo Illustration
INTRODUCTION:
For this project, I was required to render my partners using the Adobe Draw application on the Apple iPad alongside other programs and platforms such as Creative Cloud. I explored how to save my work online as well as create a shared library folder with my partner using the Creative Cloud service.  After creating my illustrations, I was to document and explain my workflow here on Behance.

MATERIALS:
Hardware: Apple iPad, Adonit Pixel Stylus
Software: Adobe Draw, Adobe Illustrator
Platforms: Creative Cloud, Behance

CREATIVE PROCESS:
For the first portion of the project, I took a photo of my first partner, Patricia, and opened the photo on the Adobe Draw app on the iPad and synced the Adonit Pixel Stylus pen. I created a layer to draw on, and experimented with the various brush styles and decided to render the cameo drawing in a "sketchy-like" style. After I was done with my drawing, I brought the file into Adobe Illustrator through Creative Cloud made an oval border framing the drawing.

For the second part, I talked to my other partner, Jiwon, and learned more about her interests and hobbies were. She often liked to travel, so I decided that her caricature illustration would be her in an airport about to embark to another destination with a suitcase and airplane ticket in hand. I applied the same method from the part drawing and took a photo to trace as a reference. Through Adobe Draw, I took the time to create more smoother and cleaner lines and created more layers to colour in her hair and the highlights of her hair at the bottom. And lastly, I worked on her body and background on more layers and kept the illustration simple.

CONCLUSION:
Overall, I learned how useful it is to use cloud syncing platforms to keep and share your work online so you could access it through various devices. I've previously worked with Adobe Draw and the Adonit Pixel Stylus and while it is great to be able to use a drawing application with a pen on a portable device like the iPad, I'd personally much rather digitally draw using tools such as Wacom tablets. I had to overcome issues with how to hold the pen in order to register strokes correctly on Adobe Draw along with minor hiccups with my hand still communicating with the tablet screen despite palm rejection being turned on. I'd still like to try out Adobe Draw more with other pens since drawing directly on a surface instead of coordinating your hand on a tablet to a screen feels more fluid and natural.
