The 27th Letter project is a great way to explore typography. It forces you to really examine the subtleties and nuances of the different categories of typefaces; categories such as old style, transitional, modern, and contemporary.
I considered a few different prefixes and suffixes, but eventually decided on the prefix "de-". The typeface I based on is Didot, which is a modern typeface.
“de,” an English prefix conveying negation, as in "deconstruction".
