Forgiveness
A girl talks about the death of her grandfather and how she dealt with the loss of someone so precious to her. She recalls all the good memories she shared with him at first and then the memories of her grandfather’s changed attitude as he grew older. Her grandfather grew more distant as he grew older and most of the time, it seemed to the little girl that her grandfather would not notice her existence at all. She herself even became more distant, becoming reluctant in approaching her grandfather and talking to him.
One day, he passed away and the little girl was too young to understand the concept of death and because of the guilt she felt towards her grandfather, she started having those nightmares. In those dreams her grandfather would appear to her as if he was still alive and well. This threw the girl into utter confusion and loss. Even in those dreams, she was still afraid of approaching him. At the end of that journey of loss and confusion, it seemed that her grandfather had forgiven her as he finally approached her and smiled at her in one final dream, reassuring his granddaughter that he in fact is gone but he will never forget the memories they shared.
