The latest music talent platform, Salute, which is pioneering an innovative new way of showcasing and finding great UK music, has had to delay its launch on account of some potentially game-changing news.
The competition was supposed to open its doors for all contestants on April 3rd, but the impending news has meant that the Salute team has had to postpone the date until 27th April.
This initial stage of the competition allows applicants to upload their music to the Salute platform, where it is then judged by a team of music experts who will narrow down all contestants to a top 100. This will then be diminished to a final 6 by public vote who will appear on the live shows.
On the plus side, there will be a few more weeks for people to hear about what Salute are doing and thus, spread the word to anyone they know who makes music and could be a winning candidate.
Speculation suggests that the news could well be related to a partnership with one of the world's biggest organisations. However, for the meantime, we will have to wait and see.

Salute Music Makers is a pioneering enterprise redefining the face of the music industry. The idea behind the project is to create an accessible and fair opportunity for a diverse range of music makers to showcase their talents, tapping into the DIY generation of music. Initially, hopeful applicants will upload their music to an app where it will be vetted by industry professionals, before narrowing it down to a top 100. After this stage, a public vote will pick out a top 6 who will fight it out for a £50,000 prize on the Salute live TV shows. Aiming to empower original, grass-roots music makers and distance themselves from the conventional talent shows such as The X-Factor and The Voice, Salute is leading the search for talent in a new direction.
