"Because of Radishes" is a dark Rapunzel representation done on cotton canvas with acrylic paints. Based off of the beloved tale assembled by the Grimm Brothers, I named it for the slightly altered version I learned as a child in which the rapunzel plant the mother craves when she is pregnant is a radish plant.
Rapunzel was one of my favorite fairy tales because I wasn't allowed to cut my hair when I was younger so I always identified with her character. My mother actually suggested this one and gave me some of the imagery ideas.
