This is my first time attempting to paint the Milky Way. I didn't want to make this too complicated but I may add more details in the future, like feathers on their faces, textures on the suits and maybe a spaceship.

I made this other version first, to be able to work on different layers, with different pieces of their spacesuit on. I made the "gloves" with smaller finger-like compartments and added knee-pads because penguins do have fingers and knees. Especially these.

I wanted to show these two images side to side to show how I worked on the background. It's the first time I try to paint the Milky Way. At some point it looked more like the Aurora Borealis. I used some star brushes to quickly paint the clusters and cloud brushes to add different sections of color.

I made different helms for the penguins in separate layers so I could hide / show different things, like the translucent and golden screens. You can also see the basic traces. I used a different layer for the suit, chest armor and helm so I could paint and use them separately for different purposes.

This is by far the project I have enjoyed the most. I love penguins. Obviously.
