Navistar Defense
2010
Summary

Navistar Defense is one of the world's leading manufacturers of highly advanced military vehicles. And as a company with a global presence, Navistar Defense finds itself promoting its line-up of more than 20 vehicles around the world. But because the smallest vehicle is 10 feet tall and weighs over 40,000 lbs, it is impossible to transport the fleet to tradeshows and other events. So with floor space at a premium, it was critical to find a compact solution to show off the entire line-up of vehicles and demonstrate their capabilities in an engaging way.

After in-depth discussions with business development and marketing staff, we gained a better understanding of what would be required of a digital vehicle display: a self-directed experience that would allow users to quickly and easily explore vehicles by use cases, while demonstrating the range of capabilities through detailed specs and multimedia. With this approach, event visitors could browse a range of product offerings without requiring on-site vehicles. Once the display captured a visitor's attention, sales staff could engage visitors to discuss their specific needs.

Our solution? A large-format touchscreen kiosk. The custom application welcomes visitors to the Navistar Defense booth and allows them to explore in-depth information about the entire vehicle lineup. Visitors are able to sort vehicles by model, mission, terrain and other special features using a video game-like interface and familiar touch gestures. Each model is loaded with additional information such as background info, specs, photos, videos and 3D renderings. The final result is an application that is engaging and useful for customers and sales people alike.

The kiosk has become a valuable sales tool capable of promoting Navistar Defense vehicles virtually anywhere in the world. Customers are able to better explore the company's full product offerings, and sales staff can quickly dive into specs or multimedia as they discuss options with potential customers. The application was so well received that it is now running on multiple installations, and has been included in each of Navistar Defense's subsequent trade show appearances.
