Automotive Color and Materials Future Concepts
This project was my first exploration into developing automotive interior concepts. First, I chose the subcompact segment of car, then did benchmarking research to determine what the norm was for that segment. After, research began to determine what trends are upcoming, and what materials could possibly be developed for automotive purposes.
My final concepts were based around the city of Detroit. I was thinking about what kind of people live here now, and the kinds of people that seem to be emerging in the city. It was important to reflect different socioeconomic levels and age groups. Having three very different concepts also reflects the diversity in Detroit. In addition to renderings of the interior and exterior, I developed a slip cast ceramic piece to supplement each scheme.
