I participated in the SkillsUSA North Carolina Conference in Pin Design.  We had to design a pin that would be worn by the North Carolina competitors in the National competition, if we got in first place.  My pin shows many of the icons of North Carolina, such as the lighthouses along the Outer Banks, Raleigh, the capital city, a cardinal, the state bird, and some dogwood flowers, the state flower.  Also, the overall shape, the ribbons, and the star are from the state flag.
