Temporary Accommodation for a new Gymnasium
The client wanted to build a new school building. And it was supposed to be ready in only four months. Together with Klaas Huisjes i made a design for this semi permanent building in Osdorp (Amsterdam West).
Units
To fit the tight schedule the building had to be build with pre-fabricated unit. Although the building is temporary, it should look like most temporary buildings.
Flows
Because of the number of students, special attention was needed for traffic flows. We over dimensioned the traffic space so all students can enter en leave the school within minutes.
Atrium
We grouped almost all functions in two volumes. By moving the two volumes away from each other we created a big atrium, which can be used as cantine but also as theatre.
