Dorian Gray
I chose to adapt the Oscar Wilde novel ‘The picture of Dorian Gray’, as I felt the themes translate well to contemporary society. I played with the concept of a ‘modern classic’, aiming to combine more traditional typefaces with modern imagery. To visually represent Dorian’s fall from grace, I wanted the drawings to become more rugged as the story progressed. The transparency in the acetate cover symbolises how the cursed portrait was a ‘window’ to Dorian’s true nature.
