The Snowflake Generator: An Interactive Greeting Card
This interactive greeting card lets the user create a snowflake from a shape formed from a randomly generated series of coordinates. The shape is duplicated six times, and each instance is rotated 60 degrees. Much the same way you would make a snowflake by folding and cutting a piece of paper. The greeting card was created in Adobe Flash, and the interactive components were coded using ActionScript2.
This image shows the process for the user. The first image is the program when first opened, the second is the random line shape, and the third is the resulting snowflake created from the shape.
Since the snowflake is creates from a shape created from randomly generated coordinates, the chances of seeing the same snowflake twice are virtually zero. Just like a real snowflake.
