How to Save Wet Gadgets and Make Them Reusable?

There is no need to say that water can cause severe damage to all the electronic devices, unless you. It is probably why the retailers, electronic gadget experts, and the manufacturers suggest protecting your devices against water. Of corse that you do not need any of these steps if you buy a waterproof case. People try their best to protect their gadgets and devices like cell phones against water, but things get wrong. There are chances that your phone may get submerged into water anytime, whenever you are roaming around the pool, on the beach, or simply in your washroom. So, what should you do to reuse the wet gadgets? There is an effective solution that you should try to keep your devices intact. The solution is explained in several steps below.

Step 1:
The very first thing you should try to protect your device is removing its power source. Remove the battery of your Smartphone, Tablet, or MP3 player, if it has got wet. It is necessary because as soon you will remove the battery or another power source, the chances of reusing that the wet device will increase. The chances of short circuit will be quite small, once you will remove the battery or cut the power source. Therefore, you must follow the first step to save your gadgets.

Step 2:
Once you have removed the power source of your device, now is the time to remove the water. Your device can become reusable only if it dries out quickly. So, take a paper towel and start cleaning the water that inserted into the device. Suppose, your smartphone has fallen into the water, remove its battery and use the paper towel to clean the water from inside and outside the phone. Of course, you cannot disassemble the whole device, but at least you can try to clean the removable water drops.

Step 3:
Do not forget to follow this point because it is essential if you want to turn on your gadget again. Submerge your device into alcohol and let it get merged for at least 2-4 minutes. Do not think that it is not a good idea because it will save the life of your device. Several minerals may get inside your phone with water, and those minerals can cause severe harm to essential components of your electronic device. Alcohol will remove all those minerals out efficiently and thus the chances of reusing the device will improve.

Step 4:
If you have followed all the above-explained procedures effectively, now is the time to dry out the device. Take the phone out of alcohol and again clean it with the paper towel. Now you can follow some common drying techniques like submerging the device into rice in an airtight plastic bag. Dry out the device at least for 24 hours and then check it is working or not. If it is still not working, then let it dry for a few days. Your device will start working, and there will be no need to take it to the repair shop.
So, follow these steps to reuse your wet gadgets because thus you can indeed save your water damaged device.
