LAGOM
In today's world full of distractions, bathroom is often the only place where we can find a bit of peace, quietness and privacy. Our mind feels more relaxed and calm, when there are less objects in range of our sight. Washbasin integrated with countertop and storage, gives us an opportunity to hide all the things which we are using in our everyday bathroom rituals, but still making them easy to access. That we can have a clean space for our thoughts and comfort.
I wanted that the project will reflect some kind of thinking about objects around us. âLagomâ in Swedish means âenoughâ. Not too much, not too less. Just how much we need.
EVERYTHING IN ITS RIGHT PLACE.
Back part of the washbasin is lowered, that the things like for example soap, won't fall down to the bowl and that the wet things will be away from the part which shouldn't have access to water. It also makes everything easier to keep tidy, so every thing will have right place for it.
MULTIFUNCTIONALITY.
Washbasin is made of Solid Surface material, which gives many new opportunities, so the storage function could be integrated in one form. SS material is very hygienic and each parts can be jointed together seamless.
STORAGE.
When we open the countertop we get access to the storage. We can place there all our cosmetics etc. which we like to have within reach. The movable part blocks itself when it is fully open and it keeps the distance from the wall, so it won't get damaged. On the left side of the washbasin is a towel rail.
ONE FORM, MANY STYLES.
Towel rail and countertop are made of varnished plywood. It is also possible to apply on it veneer or HPL laminate. That gives a big range of options, when it comes to colours or textures. In that way, the washbasin can be personalized and made suitable for many interiors.
