Mobile Devices Act | multidisciplinary

There are great advantages to mobile technology in terms of connectivity, convenience and information sharing. While mobile phones have become a necessity for everyday life, we have found ourselves at the mercy of our notifications, inbox and feeds, compelled to check our pockets every few seconds. Distracted by our various pixilated screens, we have become less engaged with what is happening around us, missing out on richer communication and real-life experiences.

This visual communications project is made up of animated and live footage motion stings that highlight times when we miss out due to over-usage of mobile devices in an effort to encourage people to think about their device usage and direct traffic to the project website which further explains the downsides of being so device-dependant and outlines the measures being introduced my the Mobile Devices Act.
The mobile devices act mobile application ironically allows users to reduce time they spend using their mobile devices, while the printed broadsheet poster allows device users to find out more about the Mobile Devices Act as well as providing a device seizure bag and a device permit form and free-post envelope. Included in the postal pack are double-sided postcards, which bring the motion clips to a printed format.
