Poseemos un considerable número de tarjetas, todas ellas de una misma dimensión –5,5 x 8,5 cm– pero con funciones distintas: identificación nacional, acceso a cuentas bancarias, servicio médico, de transporte, ...la lista es extensa. Cada una de ellas nos representa de alguna forma y es la llave de acceso a algo. Quizás, en algún momento, todas esas tarjetas sean sólo una y su pérdida resulte catastrófica. ¿Alguien creería nuestra identidad sin ella?
Desde esta reflexión, planteé esta escultura en torno a nuestra identificación. Va suspendida a la altura de los ojos y en ella se puede ver la impronta de una tarjeta, cuyo texto invertido vuelve a ser legible a través del espejo, ese objeto que por antonomasia nos devuelve la imagen de nosotros mismos.

We all have a considerable number of cards, all the same size and each for a different purpose: identity card, credit card, health insurance, library, phone card, transportation, ... Each one of them represents us in some way and is the key-access to something. Perhaps, at some point all those cards would become just one and its loss would be terrible. Would anyone believe our identity without it?
From this reflection starts this sculpture around identity. It hangs at eye level. The embossing of one of those cards displays an inverted text that it is legible again through the mirror, the object that par excellence reflects us.
