Ferrari SF-18 with New ''Halo'' Concept

The FIA would be imposing the Halo in 2018, despite only one team being in favour, has caused a huge backlash from fans and commentators.
The Halo and Shield have emerged as the two options for cockpit protection, with the FIA insistent some form of device will be introduced next season.

Many fans and commentators are unhappy about how F1’s cars will look next year with the Halo on board, and it has been known for some time that teams and some drivers were against it on visual grounds.
It still requires final ratification by the World Motor Sport Council but this can be completed by e-vote if necessary.
Another change agreed by the F1 Strategy Group and F1 Commission was restrictions to engine cover dimensions, which are likely to rule out the shark fins and T-wings – criticised by many for their aesthetics – seen on this year’s cars. Technical regulations will be re-worded in a bid to outlaw 'shark fins' and 'T-wings' for next season.

Cockpit protection ‘Halo’ are set to be introduced next season while this year’s shark-fin engine covers are likely to be ruled out, following discussions this week among F1 racing’s key stakeholders. This concept was designed according these considerations.
