Race the Animals is a mixed reality installation at the Science Center in Pirmasens, Germany.
Visitors can virtually race different animals, big and small. The speed is measured in realtime using an infrared person tracking system. To realize the 13 m long projection 4 projectors with edge-blending were needed. After the race additional information about the raced animal is displayed.

In a variation of the race the visitor has to run through virtual rain. The aim is to get as little wet as possible.
