One stereotype I hate is that African men are terrible fathers, yes, there are many that make girls, women pregnant and run for the hills - of course that happens. But to paint with the same brush seems terribly cruel.
Here we have a three generation family, a father so proud of his son and grandson. I have meet many wonderful fathers in the African communities, men who stay at home from work, take their kids to the clinic because their wives domestic employer's refuse to give Moms the time off.
Wonderful fathers with sick, snotty babies trying to cope as best they can.
There is a huge danger of seeing what's wrong and expecting that to reflect the whole.
