When I hear the word "coral" my brain is inclined towards imagining an explosion of bright, happy, colors.
However, because of global warming, The Great Barrier Reef which is the treasure trove of this world's corals has been transformed into a ghost of its past self.
The rise in temperature of water causes coral bleaching wherein the corals are forced to expel the algae living within its tissues thus turning it white. This illustration is a struggle between the imagery in my head and attempt to reconciling them with the reality.
