“The environment’s scale is grand and beautiful. The different environments and locations have so much detail; in essence, it is a character in itself.”
“It's wrapped in a gorgeous layer of Disney nerdery and accompanied by a soundtrack that reimagines classic Disney tunes as mournful Danny Elfmanish ditties. It's a triumph of presentation.”

LEVELS
The gulch  -  Gen 3
The overall vision for the game was to make the player feel that everything was larger than life. This is how I felt about Disney when I was little. You can find large Disney character heads throughout all of the levels. This also added to the creepier darker side of Epic Mickey 2.

Fort Wasteland  -  Gen 3
We had to cleverly disguise our memory constraints and needed to build more verticality into the worlds. This worked out really well because it added to the feeling of a larger than life world where the player could feel just how vast the Disney Universe really is.

We wanted to get the broom shadows on the Wii. This was not possible but we made it a priority on gen 3. It paid off because it adds so much atmosphere and really reflects the original animation. The art team was incredible!  We struggled with the water on Gen 3. We wanted to take advantage of the shaders but we also didn't want to lose the stylized and painterly look of a Disney cartoon.
