DARK ICE
—
Glaciers tell stories. Their colors and details attest to what they have experienced – ash from devastating volcanic eruptions, rocks that were dragged along for many kilometers, or traces of extremely snowy winters. They are in constant motion. Some of them slower, others quite fast. When the ice in the glacier starts to move, it is reminiscent of shots fired from a rifle. At those moments one might bear witness to one of the most spectacular natural events: a glacier calving.
