As a work study for CCS Visual Resources I mostly scan and catalog images that are uploaded into Luna, the department's image collection software. I was then given the opportunity to create new print and identity materials for the department.
Because Visual Resources is all about art history and providing students and faculty with high quality scans of artwork, I wanted to create an identity that would act as a framing device for the artwork and bring awareness to how much variety Luna Image Collections has. While creating this frame, I also wanted to incorporate the Luna logo somehow, which led to the intersecting square and circle that form the L. Overall, the identity is focused on the artwork that students and faculty can find on Luna and how exploring Luna can be helpful in their studies and as a source of inspiration.
