Cleats of Paradise

Cleats of Paradise

1. Pen Tool

Before
After
I used the pen tool to highlight the logo “puma” and change the color to pure white for the puma soccer cleat. This made the logo look way cleaner and clearer to read. I did this because the logo was very dirty with dirt on it. This allowed the logo to look a lot cleaner and clearer on the changed cleat.

2.  Adjustment Panel

Before
After

I used threshold in the adjustment panel to “highlight” the different details in the  nike soccer cleat. When the cleat was in its original color, its details were hidden. When I used the threshold tool, the picture became black and white, and this feature really brought out the laces, nike sign, and the tongue of the cleat.

3. Highlight and Shadow

Before
After

I used highlight and shadow to create more contrast between the soccer cleat and the background and to show the cleats “true or natural color”. Using this tool, I was able to bring out the purple and red of the cleat which really made the cleat pop. This tool was also useful for showing how the cleat was used because when I used highlighting and shadow, the dirt on the white part of the cleat really came out to show that the cleat was used before.

4. Filter Gallery

Before
After

I used the filter gallery to highlight the bright color of the soccer cleat and to cast a cool shadow of the cleat on the rug. This bright color made the cleat more interesting and emphasized the nike sign more. Another thing is that the shadow gave another perspective on the how the cleat was shaped. This filter also gave the rug a lighter color so that the cleat would be the main object since it was a black cleat.

5. Adjustment Layers

Before
After

For this nike soccer cleat, I used the brightness and contrast tool in the adjustment layers. I used this tool to bring out the nike sign of the cleat, the small colors on the side of the cleat, and the insole of the cleat. I turned the contrast and brightness almost all the way to 100 which allowed the different colors of the insole and the different colors on the cleat to differentiate from gray, the main color of the cleat. This made the cleat look more appealing to the viewer.

6. Patch Tool

Before
After

For this nike soccer cleat, I used the patch tool. This tool allowed me to change the texture of the cleat to the texture of the rug.  I changed the texture of the whole cleat so it looked more realistic and more interesting. This also allows the viewer to be attracted to the whole cleat and not just the nike sign which is a different color from the rest of the cleat.

7. Burn Tool

Before
After

For this nike soccer cleat, I used the burn tool. This tool allowed me darken the lighter colors of the cleat. Using this tool, I darkened the rug and the blue color of the cleat which blended the whole image together. This tool also created a more realistic and used view of the cleat because it was darkened.

8. Blending Modes

Before

After

For this new balance soccer cleat, I used the blending mode. I used the blending mode to blend a skull from the nike cleat onto this new balance cleat. This affected the target audience because this tool made the cleat look more like a kids cleat. This allowed the cleat to attract more kids to the photo.

9. Smudge Tool

Before

After

I used the smudge tool for this nike soccer cleat. This tool allowed me to fingerpaint more colors on the sole and end of the cleat. This made the cleat more attractive because a wide variety of colors were added to the cleat. Also, this made the cleat more attractive as the sole became interesting as well as the end with the finger painting colors.

10. Dodge Tool

Before
After

I used the dodge tool for this nike soccer cleat. The dodge tool allowed me to lighten up parts of the cleat and the background. I used this tool to lighten the white row of the background to create more contrast between the cleat and the background. I also lightened the nike sign and the left side of the cleat to make the sign pop more and to highlight the different shades of black on the left side of the cleat.
