A HOUSING EXPERIENTIAL PROJECT

Founded in 1976, the ACME Group has invested the last 4 decades in fulfilling their promise of 'housing happiness' across Mumbai city. Over the years, the team and the projects have grown bigger, and the standards have been raised each time. Every ACME home owner has a happy story to tell.

Acme Ozone is situated at one of the most sought-after locations - Ghodbunder Road. The locale provides fabulous connectivity to the central as well as western suburbs of Mumbai. Acme Ozone is situated amidst Thane's major landmarks allows you to discover the best of connectivity, greenery, and luxury. Acme Ozone houses a perfect haven where you can gaze into stillness from your home, replete with endless comfort and luxury.

THE BRAND CHALLENGE
The Ozone project was nearing its completion but, when prospective customers would drive up to the location it failed to create the vision of the space that Acme was trying to create. It came upon us to create a temporary sales experience space which would slowly get incorporated into the final plan itself. The space that we had to work on was the parking lot space outside the sales office, but the experience itself needed to start right from the entrance of the project to create the necessary touchpoint.

ACME - THE SITE

THE SOLUTION
Since it was necessary to increase the visibility of the project and to create a temporary space since it was heavily trafficked by cars and HMV's it was essential to design a structure that could withstand the movement. We decided to use materials that could be easily sourced onsite and required less hassle for installation. Keeping with the theme of Ozone, it became necessary to introduce planters which required less maintenance to create the right ambience. It was important to play with elements of sound and smell in a space like this to make the customer forget his surroundings and transport himself into a different world.

The Proposed Design
THE ENTRANCE VIEW FROM THE DRIVEWAY - The materials suggested were bamboo and turf grass. A hanging lollipop signage was suggested to increase the visibility of the project to draw the attention of the drivers who drove by on the main road as all the project's primary signage were facing a different direction.
THE RAMP DRIVEWAY- Use of simple and bold text was suggested to draw attention to the attributes of the project. Use of bamboo planters suspended on ropes was suggested to cover the side of the double-height driveway to hide the construction area. The ceiling was left untouched as it would have been a hinderance to the HMV's and cranes.
The parking area as proposed. Enclosing the columns with turf grass and metal punch sleeve with the words 'Parking'.  A podium made from bamboo would be setup to create a drop off/ welcome point for the families. A concierge would be there to direct the people towards the sales office.
The walkway towards the sales office as proposed. We decided to highlight the space by displaying already finished projects of ACME. This would help in reinforcing trust and also add to the opulence of the project.
THE EXPERIENCE ZONE
The area given was over 2000 sft and it was essential to create an enclosed space to ensure cooling as well as repellence to the dust.
The flooring itself was tiled with a mix of turf grass and wooden tiles. A water feature was to be constructed in the double height space. The use of water against created a cooling effect as well as provided the ambient sound of rain and added to the fragrance of wet earth. The left wall was covered
using bamboo blinds with split bamboo planters. The space itself needed to cater to children as well as the adults. so spaces internally were divided to create the right feel.
A play area was to be constructed using an inbuilt foam padded seating with foam stools of different heights in the centre. This enabled the children to
climb and sit as well as use their digital devices if they had any. Grass benches were also provided around the columns for the parents for easy supervision on their children.
A refreshment counter was created to keep the families engaged while they waited their turn to meet with the sales representative. A bamboo blind with 3D butterflies added to the gentleness of the environment. A metal framework was proposed with sandwiched glass. This helped in creating an enclosed space to optimise the cooling. Garden benches with foam stools were also provided for seating. The client wanted to create a provision of multiple seatings to cater to numbers.
Concrete benches were provided along the water feature to add to the playfulness of the space. with water droplets trickling down the ceiling, it would create lovely ripples on the water surface which would add more texture. All spaces were to made accessible to the families to create an immersive experience.
A deck area was proposed right outside the sales office. A comfortable space to create and ambience of an outdoor garden was kept in mind with lounge chairs and long sofas. A testimonial wall was also proposed with a simple clipboard mechanism for ease of access. Bamboo lights were proposed which would throw interesting shadow patterns since the space had a low ceiling height and lacked natural light.
THE MATERIAL PALETTE
Following was the proposed material palette which helped the client visualise the tonality and evaluate the functionality of the proposed design.
