Nom de Plume Hotel

Nom de Plume is a specialty, fictitious hotel, located in the heart of Boston. Their target audience are writers— whether they have writers block, need some inspiration or just need to get away to write, this is the place that every writer dreams about. The hotel building is part of an old bookstore built in 1712, that has been maintained to keep it’s original look and feel. Some amenities include a library, a 24/7 café, staffed editors, seasonal writing conferences, loanable typewriters, and writing surfaces in all rooms for when those moments of inspiration hits.

Nom de Plume needed a brand identity that embodied their historical look and feel of the exterior and interior building, and that expressed the heart of all they have to offer.

In the end I provided them with a brand identity that spoke to the descriptive words of their hotel—historical, rich, inviting, and warm. Quill pen’s are not only historical, but support forms of writing and lettering that have come back to life with the surge of modern day calligraphy. I used strong typography combined with rich color palettes to really bring their logo to life.
