For this font study project, I made a 2-series poster explaining the characteristics and background of the font Gotham. The geometric sans serif font Gotham was designed in 2001 by Tobias Frere - Jones. This font holds nicknames such as "New York's font", "font of the decade", and "The Obama font." Obama's presidential campaign used this font. His campaign also made a serif version of this font just to be used on his presidential posters.
Here is a GIF showing the title, classification, and a characteristic.
Here is the final concept!
First page highlighting mainly the characteristics.
Second page highlighting the background history of the font and the designer.
One of the very first concepts.
First concept idea that led to the final design.
Trying different colors and simplifying hierarchy.
