Biatain Silicone AR App

Coloplast's sales force needed a way to tell the right story about Biatain Silicone, a dressing utilising 3DFit Technology™ to conform to the wound bed and avoid the so-called gap between the wound-bed and the dressing.

But how do you visualise the benefits of a product when all the good stuff is happening beneath it, out of sight? By using AR (Augmented Reality).

We developed and app for iOS and Android that made it easy to do just that. By simply placing a marker (on a sticker resembling the dressing) on the leads arm, the sales rep can demonstrate the benefits of Biatain Silicone with 3DFit Technology™ on an interactive 3D model anchored to the leads arm.
A wound forms on the leads arm...
...which is then covered by a Biatain Silicone dressing.
A 3D model of the wound-bed is lifted from the arm and hovers right above the marker.
The sales rep can now interact with the model to best match his script or client feedback: layers can be separated, exudate emergence and absorption can be paused, and in some markets, the Biatain Silicone dressing can be compared in realtime to a generic dressing.
The presentation can be concluded by further information about the products key benefits, visualised with animated icons.
This AR app is currently an internal sales tool and not available to the public. At some point in the future, the app might be extended with additional functionality and made available to the public.

App production (coding and 3D modelling) was handled by the wonderful people at Khora VR, who were not only extremely competent and helpful but also a pleasure to work with.
