Dance Tour - Egypt Edition LMS
Learning Management System Presentation
Client: Mind, Belly & Soul™

Project Description: This eLearning class tis a gateway for the learners to understand diversity in culture and reasoning behind perceptions in different countries. This course is designed as an experience for students to attain global insight through a series of elemental experiences and authentic assessments that will provide learners with a deeper understanding of another culture.

Target Audience:
Ages 12 to 80, beginners to advance students interested in dance.
Schoology was used as the LMS for this course. This visual shows the course view for students within the LMS.
The module 3 - rhythms and movements, was fully developed for exploration and testing. This allowed for a full experience of how the module would work.
Choice of LMS
After careful consideration for the audience, preteen to adult, Schoology was chosen as the LMS. Schoology is an LMS focused on middle school through college. This LMS has a modern look design  and can be used school wide for students doing their work.

The most important factor is transition function. Students who have some experience with technology such as youtube, facebook, Instagram and twitter can understand the platform easily. Schoology's interface is a cross between linkedin and facebook and promotes a community of learning. The community shares information which leads to growth which provides opportunities and ideas to practice.

The environment feels more stress free by seeming friendly and helpful by having a social approach. Targeting certain students and being able to portion off assignments to different students is great to motivate and engage by challenging students at their own level but still keep up within the class.

Schoology features work with different systems such as evernote, and googledrive which learners already use in their every day life. Inside of Schoology you can join and view groups. Through the groups learners can access and import resources that other teachers have created or used.

The purpose of the course or the training
Purpose: To teach students how to do social and performance dances within different cultures while educating on what is culturally appropriate.
The first step was to create a graphic organizer to organize the modules. This is a graphic organizer of the sample module that was fully created. It was produced using the application mindnote.
This is a graphic organizer for the entire class. The assessment portion should be slightly different but it was a great guide in setting up the LMS in Schoology. The graphic organizer provided a basis for showing elements for the presentation.

Learning objectives:

1. Learners will identify different characteristics of Egyptian culture.
2. Learners will match the styles and types of music associated with        specific Egyptian dances.
3. Learners will identify basic instruments and rhythms played in Egyptian music.
4. Learners will illustrate the different styles of dance associated with Egypt.
5. Learners will apply the steps to a basic dance routine from Egypt.
6. Learners will create and produce Egyptian choreography.
7. Learners will perform an Egyptian dance choreography.
The second step was to create assets to follow the graphic organizer. The graphics allowed for further organization of the presentation to give a full scope of the course.
A final assessment quiz created in survey monkey is shown for desktop, tablet and phone versions.
How the learning will be assessed:
Assessment 1: Quiz - Identify dance movements and styles from videos.
Assessment 2: Post video to discussion board to show 4 movements.
Assessment 3: Match rhythms with movements. Fill in the blank test.
The three assessments listed above are for module 3 other assessments are included in the full course.
