While an intern at PROS Pricing I created the first company persona for an internal user, an enterprise software configurator. The product management and development teams (~150+ members) formally adopted the persona to guide all future design decisions. The interview templates and persona format I developed will be used to create four additional personas at PROS Pricing. I presented the slideshow below to the management teams to introduce the concept of personas and communicate their value.
After researching various persona formats, I created the template below to propose to the product management team. I used a college intern as my persona because the product managers interacted with interns daily. By presenting a concrete example, I was able to solicit specific feedback about final deliverable and also able to show that personas not only inform product design, but can be used as recruitment and marketing tools.
After interviewing product managers, user experience researchers, end-users, and developers, the findings were aggregated into a two-page color print out of the persona:
