I created all the vector artwork for this using Adobe Illustrator CC. I created this motion graphics animation using Adobe After Effects CC.

This was the original artwork for the Trolley Animation.

My inspiration behind the houses was to mimic the houses in the photographs below. I found the photographs on a Google search for San Francisco houses. The houses looked so cheerful that I wanted to bring out this feeling in my artwork by saturating the colors more. I also wanted to simplify the house designs in my vector artwork so it had a cleaner, lighter feel to the animation. In the end, I removed the flowers from the final animation since so much was already happening in the design and I found the flowers to be distracting from the trolley and boat. I also redesigned the sun in the final animation to create a more dynamic composition with varying circle sizes and opacities.
