ORIGINAL IMAGE

The purpose of this assignment was to create a self portrait using Adobe Illustrator. In doing so, I was able to enhance my knowledge of using the pen tool as well as the eye dropper tool.

I uploaded a photo into Adobe Illustrator and set that as my background layer. I created another layer that I begin to create basic shapes using the pen tool. I left the fill off and allowed the stroke to be a brighter color so that it would be easier to identify.

                                                 FINAL PRODUCT

Finally, I used the eye dropper tool to fill in the shapes with the color that accompany the surrounding colors. I tried the idea of using triangles but soon went to shapes that fit to the highlights and tones within my portrait.

I enjoyed doing this project and would love passing it along to my students.
