A good friend from high school got married in August of 2012, and I wanted to do something personal and unique for part of their wedding gift. I spent the summer working on my hand-lettering and taking my first letterpress class, so it was only natural to combine the two to create this for them. I doodled their last name until I was satisfied with it, cleaned it up in Illustrator, and then created a photopolymer plate to print with on one of SVA's Vandercooks. Their version was printed on beautiful 220lb paper, but it looks just as beautiful on watercolor paper. I decided to add to the project almost a year later, and create personalized greeting cards, making what was a simple commemorative sign into a family logo.
