This Design is a mash-up of characters from the game "Portal 2" and an ancient design of the Oracle of Delphi. The ancient design I've included first below.

Here is a brief view of the process. I made the background circle in Adobe Illustrator because I like the rotation and alignment tools it has. I drew the picture by lowering the opacity of the black circle, and erasing it so the orange came through to make the design.
Here is the final design. I added a texture to make it look weathered. I made it primarily so it could be worn on t-shirts.
