Sony Digital Camera In-store Display

Date: 2005

Description:
Working with an established graphic look (the bubbles in the background), I designed and supervised the production of an in-store display for a complete line of Sony digital cameras.

Notes:
This display was designed specifically for Circuit City stores. Sony was pushing hard to get the displays built
and Circuit City was dragging their heels—unable to provide the necessary specifications. Understanding the urgency of the situation I began visiting Circuit City stores armed with a digital camera, a tape measure and a note pad.

This display sits on top of an unattractive series of locked cages that hold cartons of product. The curved
top of the back panel was intended to separate the display from its generic rectilinear surroundings. Likewise the copper color was intended to bring warmth to an environment dominated
by gray and silver.

The stepped shelving enabled us to place a good number of SKUs within the consumer’s reach. The security pads functioned as a pedestal for the products and as an anchor for cable used to tether the cameras.
