I was tasked to design a wallpaper pattern, inspired by the repeat pattern images created by Julia Rothman. I began by analysing her previous design, most of which contained natural designs focused around a simple element. After sketching a few initial ideas, I chose which design I wanted to use and developed the image into a final line drawing which I then cut into four equal pieces and mirrored them along both axis. After this I scanned the image and retouched the drawing in Photoshop to ensure it kept a professional finish. I then tiled the image to create my repeating pattern. Once I had done this I added colour and again retouched the image using Adobe Illustrator.
