This week our task was to turn our chosen designs for the Malay Relay T-shirts into a color design, using the client's specified brand colors. As described in the last post, the project started with researching the race, the area, and wrapping my head around some examples of colonial images/designs. That work became the basis of the following thumbnail sketches.

I chose to develop the following 5 designs.

Per my instructor's review, I chose to finalize the following 2 designs. For the design of the shoes, I worked on the colonial shoe to give it a more painterly, organic feel so that it would match the image of the running shoe. In the runner design, I cleaned up the jacket edges, added some collar accents, and worked with the hands to make them stand out a bit more.
