Antonio Vivaldi: Composition & Hierarchy

Antonio Vivaldi: Composition & Hierarchy
In this typographic exploration, I designed different variations of an album cover for Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. This project focused on the role of composition in the creation of visual hierarchy with changing parameters including typeface & type size; spacing & measurement; weight & scale; and color and texture.
In my first compositions, I was restricted to using Futura typeface in one weight and size, all flush left and hand made from cut strips of paper.
Next, I recreated some of my stronger compositions in InDesign and created new compositions in flush right type and compositions where the type could be any justification or orientation.
Afterwards, I revised some of my stronger compositions and created new ones with the introduction of different sizes and weights of type.
Extreme scale was added.
Finally, I introduced color and texture.
My six best designs from throughout the process.
My three final designs.
